Before purchasing your travel eSIM, it’s important to make sure your device supports eSIM. Follow the steps below to check on your phone.
For iPhone (iOS)
Method 1 (Recommended)
- Go to Settings
- Tap General
- Tap About
- Scroll down to:
- Available SIM (iOS 15 and newer), or
- Digital SIM (older iOS versions)
If you see an option like “Add eSIM”, your device supports eSIM.
For Android Devices
Because Android menus vary slightly by manufacturer, try one of the following methods:
Method 1
- Go to Settings
- Tap Network & Internet
- Tap eSIM cards
If you see an option like “Download a SIM instead?”, your device supports eSIM.
Method 2 (Common on Samsung devices)
- Go to Settings
- Tap Connections
- Tap SIM card manager
If you see “Add mobile plan” or “Add eSIM”, your device supports eSIM.
Important Things to Check
Even if your device supports eSIM:
- Make sure your device is unlocked (not restricted to another carrier)
- Ensure your phone is running the latest OS version
- Some regional device variants may not support eSIM (even if the model usually does)
